British Transplant Games - Saturday 21st August - Thank you - updated again

On behalf of all the Transplant cyclists who rode on Saturday in Royal Victoria Park, I wonder if you would be kind enough to pass on our thanks to all those involved in the organisation for the day?

The event was excellent and allowed both experienced and new riders alike to race and enjoy the day at a level appropriate to them. Some riders are happy they are fit and well enough simply to enjoy the pleasures of cycling in such lovely surroundings others amongst us are trying to qualify for the GB team and need to demonstrate a level of fitness and competence to make the team. The two events you organised for us allowed both groups to achieve their goals.

We had some new competitors, more women riders and some good prospects for the GB team. The feedback I got was universally positive.

It was one of the few sunny Saturdays we have left this year and I'm sure the marshals would far sooner have been riding than giving up their time to look after us - I am very grateful they did.

Very many thanks to the Chippenham Wheelers.

Rich Smith
GB Transplant Cycling Captain.

From previous week...

On behalf of Team Bath and the University of Bath, I would like to thank you for the effort and commitment you gave to the 33rd British Transplant Games. The feedback from competitors and organisers alike was extremely positive.

The Games would not have been such a success without the support you gave to the event. This support throughout the preparation months and during the Games was crucial.

The British Transplant Games are an established annual fixture on the sporting calendar and allow hundreds of transplant recipients the opportunity to participate in friendly but competitive sport, as well as raising the awareness of organ donation. The positive atmosphere of the Games would not have been possible without your involvement and the values of the event are an inspiration to everyone.

Please also pass on our gratitude to all the officials you involved from your club.

Once again, I would like to offer my thanks to you for your help, time and support. Your contribution made a tremendous difference to hundreds of people.

Yours sincerely
Stephen Baddeley, Director of Sport
