Our ever-popular club Audax ride series is now in the club calendar and open for entries for the 50km, 75km and 100km events. The first event is the 50km Audax on Sunday 23rd January.
Audax Medal Awards – 3 new levels of achievement
After the first 50km ride we increase the distance by 25km each month to 75km, 100km, 125 km etc to eventually finish the series with a 200km randonee to the seaside in July. Ride as few or as many events as you like. New for 2022, you will be able to earn shiny bronze, silver or gold medals depending on how many and how far you ride over the 7 events. For details of the award levels needed to qualify for each medal please follow this link.
Fletcher’s Flapjack 100km Open Audax in March
The series includes the club’s popular Fletcher’s Flapjack 100km Open Audax in March, which usually attracts over 100 riders. The ride is now named after Eric Fletcher who unfortunately passed away last year. Eric organised the Flapjack on behalf of the club for many years. We are encouraging our members to both ride and help with this fun event. We already have over 30 entrants at time of writing so please don’t delay entering as we will close entries when our limit is reached. See the calendar page for details.
All the rides are designed to be achievable for relatively new cyclists wanting to stretch their distance. They are not races, the aim is to complete the distance in the set time available and have a fun ride with friends.
