Having being accepted and approved at the Club AGM, the Wheelers are to have a new home and will join the Chippenham Sports Club as a “Section” from 1st January 2019. With this in mind all club members as a part of their membership, will become members of the CSC.

Becoming a section at the SSC integrates us closely with other sports clubs within Chippenham and allows us free use of the facilities. It also allows us to have an input into the running of the SSC. They have a wide range of facilities available for members to use. These are detailed below along with examples of how the club might maximise their use:
Access to bar area and rooms for Club Night on Wednesday evenings. Toilets and showers for use before and after club rides, food and beverages available at weekends for post ride gatherings, free parking, use of the bowling club pavilion for club events such as audaxes etc. Use of the main hall and skittles alley for larger events.
With this in mind, membership will be simplified from the outgoing system, but will be increased to cover the additional cost of creating a section. However it will give us a far more useable facility that we can integrate into club use.
Membership renewal cost is to be introduced with immediate effect and be phased in to full price over the next 3 years, but the full benefits will be available from the start of 2019, as any Club member will be able to use the facility at any time.

The good news is that Wednesday night club nights will still continue, but will move to the new venue. There are several areas which we could use for this including the main bar area or private, self-contained rooms. There is tea and coffee (along with normal bar drinks) available from the SSC.
During the changeover period, certain events may still take place at previous venues, i.e. Strength and Conditioning to remain at Scout Hut – so please ensure that you check the website for full details.
