The following frequently asked questions (FAQ) are provided to assist the use of the club calendar provided by RidewithGPS.
Q. How do I register for ride attendance?
A. Follow the calendar or list entry to the event and click/tap on the “Join event” button. This will allow you to see who else is registered and the organiser contact you should event details change.
Q. I’ve changed my mind / I can no longer attend a ride. What should I do?
A. To indicate you no longer can attend you can click the ‘You Joined / Leave Event’ button.
Q. Why can’t other people see my name after I sign-up?
A. In order for other people to see your name in the participant list for each event you need to set your ‘Profile Privacy’ setting to ‘Public’. This is entirely your choice.
You may keep the ‘default privacy for new route and new rides to ‘Private’ or ‘Friends only’.
Q. How do I get to show my first name and last name in the participant list instead of my RidewithGPS username?
A. You can change your ‘DisplayName’ in your profile settings.
Q. I’m trying to open a link in a description of an event but it won’t open. What am I doing wrong?
A. There is a known issue on RidewithGPS mobile apps that won’t allow you to open links from the event descriptions. RidewithGPS have confirmed they will be fixing this issue so in the meantime please open the event page from a mobile browser and the links should work from there.
Q. How can I view or open any events from the club calendar on my mobile.
A. Sadly, the calendar view on our website has not optimised for mobile devices. However you can still see which days of the month have events on them and if you double tap the orange boxes you can still navigate to the event page. From there you can sign-up for the event and upload the route to your GPS device (Garmin / Wahoo etc).
Alternatively, if you scroll further down the page you will be able to see a list view of the next 2 weeks of events in the calendar.
Q. I’m still having trouble with the new calendar. Who can help me?
A. While the tool is designed to be user-friendly, we encourage you to contact leisureride@chippenhamwheelers.org if you encounter any issues or need assistance.
