Back in September (which already feels like a lifetime ago) we started to tell you about our much-loved Club Annual Dinner & Awards Night – can we have a show of hands who saved the date, please? Well done, everybody! Since then, our sub-committee social team have been meeting up and working hard on both organising the event, and reviewing the format of the evening. After a fair amount of discussion, we came to a unanimous decision that it was probably due for a bit of a change.
For many years, the event has been held at The Town Hall, and as much as this has been a fantastic place to host our night, we felt it was maybe time to move on and try somewhere new – but before anyone panics that it’s now going to be in the middle of nowhere, panic not, as the new venue is not a million miles away. In fact, it is very close indeed. So close, that upon arrival you might recognise the grand old building in front of you, and as you enter the foyer it will start to feel even more familiar, however this time, you won’t be heading upstairs, but staying downstairs, as our 2019 event is being held at (drum roll please………….) The Neeld in Chippenham.
Recently refurbished, this fabulous venue offers excellent facilities, including a brand new fully-stocked bar, more space for tables, and a larger area to throw some shapes and show off your best dance moves – it’s generally a better fit for what we want for our amazing event. As is tradition, we’ve invited along a special guest – now this person really does have a story to tell, so we can look forward to hearing all about their incredible life, and all things cycling – definitely not one to be missed!
Saturday 26th January. The Neeld in Chippenham. Tickets cost £30 each. Drinks reception at 6.45pm followed by a 3-course meal, lots of laughter, plenty of cycling-related banter, and much, much more…
