Our second post-lockdown ride on Sunday attracted a good turnout of 25 riders, who were set-off on their way from the Sports Club in groups of 6 or less. We enjoyed a new route variation out to Honeystreet Mill Café passing through Keevil, Bulkington and Worton on the way. The café was a tad busy but we were able to sit outside enjoying the canal side views. Alton Barnes white horse looked splendid on the way home after our fuel stop.
It proved quite tricky keeping track of everyone arriving at the start and sorting you all into similar sized groups. The on-line booking system is working well, but it would really help in future weeks if everyone can:
- pre-book on-line – this is so we know how many riders to expect on the day and is essential for COVID track and trace purposes
- arrive by 9.25am for a 9.30am depart – this gives us a chance to check you in and sort the groups
- notify the organiser if you are unable to ride if for any reason after pre-booking – this is so we can get the group sizes reasonably well balanced before setting off
We have just about finalised the rest of the September ride program, including an exciting new 125km route to complete the 2020 club Audax series and a longer 200km Challenge Ride the end of the month. There will also be shorter alternative rides available. Details will be published in the club calendar on the website, so look out for these and make sure you pre-book your place!
