The 6th in our series of audax rides. It’s our traditional summer ride to Sherborne, always a favourite! We head out to Longleat for our first information control, then onto Maiden Bradley for our morning stop at the Bradley Hare Inn who have confirmed they will welcome us with bacon/egg rolls and tea/coffee. We then take the lanes past the impressive King Alfred’s Tower, look out for it hidden behind the trees. After carefully descending Kingsettle Hill we wind our way to North Cadbury for our second information control. Our route then takes us past Cadbury Castle, through Sandford Orcas and onwards to Sherborne for lunch at Olivers Cafe.
After lunch we take a quick spin past the impressive Sherborne Abbey to visit it’s curious information control before heading for home. On the return leg there are options to stop at Stourhead National Trust Cafe and at various cafes in Frome.
The questions for the Information Controls will be in your brevet card – don’t forget your pencil to note down the answer, or just take a photo and write it in when you get home.
Finish will be at Chippenham Sports Club. We don’t plan to have anyone stamping cards at the finish but will leave the Finish stamp behind the bar (if they are still open) – just ask the bar staff to stamp your card and write in the finish time for you. Otherwise just note down your finish time in your brevet card when you get home, take a photo of your card and email it to email@example.com
