MTB or gravel bikes are recommended for this ride. We’d strongly advise to use gravel tyres with a minimum width of 1.75″ or 40mm.
The route has approx 14 miles of gravel tracks, on by-ways and bridleways. The rest of the route is tarmac roads to link the off-road sections together. We’ve tried to find tracks with a hard base, suitable for gravel tyres but expect some mud in places. We tested it in on our MTBs but gravel bikes would probably be fine on this route too.
We plan to stop in Malmesbury for a coffee and snack but may just get a take-away and sit under the market cross if we’re a bit mucky!

The form is a mandatory for all riders, so we can make our rides as COVID safe as possible for all of us. Your cooperation to complete this in advance of the ride will help the start go smoothly and will be much appreciated. A Google Form has been used to capture the necessary information rather than using any other app or site that requires registration.
