OR007 Off-road West Kington & the Old Coach Road

WHEN: May 09 5:00 pm
CATEGORY: Off-road Ride
EVENT ORGANISER: Dylan Spencer
START LOCATION: Chippenham Rugby club entrance
RIDE DISTANCE: 19 MILES
ROUTE: RIDE WITH GPS – OR007 Off-road West Kington & the Old Coach Road

Thursday evening off-road ride on a mix of by-ways and bridleways with inter-linking tarmac road sections. Expect gravel, grass and farm tracks and the occasional bit of mud if it’s been particularly wet.

Bike type: our local routes are best suited to hardtail MTBs. Front suspension would be nice to have but not essential. Most of the routes are also quite rideable on gravel bikes, but you’ll need to be confident of your skills on any technical sections.

Refreshments: we’ll usually round off the ride with an optional stop at a pub.

Tyres: we’ve found that gravel tyres with a minimum 1.75″ (45mm) width are best suited to our routes

Please note that attendance of this ride requires advanced booking. Please use this simple booking form.

The form is a mandatory for all riders, so the organiser knows who and how many to expect and so we have a record of everyone riding on the day. Your cooperation to complete this in advance of the ride will be much appreciated. It also means we can email you if there is any change in the ride information or cancellation. There is no need to notify us if you subsequently change your mind and decide not to ride, but a short email to the address below will ensure your name is taken off the list.

Experienced riders are asked to help keep the groups to a manageable size on the road.

For any queries about this ride please email leisureride@chippenhamwheelers.org.
