John’s birthday ride

John’s birthday ride

7 May 2015 By Leave a Comment

Not content with an 80 furlong ride with his family and grandchildren or an 80km ride with the 'old codgers' mates, John Else today set off to ride 80 miles on the organised Sunday club run. A clever route took in 8 Wiltshire White Horses over 80 miles. Thanks to club secretary Simon Kay for the design. The roads got a little grippy in places but this was always rewarded with splendid views and a cracking descent.

Refuelling was at the Woodborough garden centre cafe where a good trade in bacon rolls and cake took place.

Lots of club members turned out to the cafe, some riding the 80 mile route, some doing an 80km alternative and some riding direct or doing their own thing.

John rode a full 80 miles, ably assisted by domestics and close relatives Jacqui and David.

All met back in Chipenham at the Pheasant for brewed recovery drink. A good day out on the bike. Happy birthday John.
