We are keen to grow our youth section and are running an induction programme to prepare new riders. There will be the opportunity to race at the end of the course.
Our coaches have an enormous wealth of cycling experience, both on the track (velodrome) and road. Some of our previous youth members have gone on to professional careers, ridden at the Commonwealth Games and even become six-times world champion!
Who is it for?
Young people aged 10 – 15 years. A racing bike is not essential, but you will need a bike with gears and a helmet to wear.

This is a five-week programme on Sundays from 10:30 to 12:00:

What do I get?
Youth membership of Chippenham Wheelers and Chippenham Sports & Social Club. Free tuition from our British Cycling approved coaches to learn essential skills including:
- Bike handling
- Group riding
- Race technique
- Nutrition
- Bike maintenance
- Clothing & equipment
How much does it cost?
Our coaching is free; £25 covers the cost of the venue hire and annual club membership
What happens next?
The course will prepare you for the first race of the season at Castle Combe on Good Friday (optional). Following that, from April to September you can join us for further free coaching on Tuesday evenings at Castle Combe Circuit (£1 entry), enjoy our club time trials, group riding on the road, velodrome sessions or further British Cycling races.
