Changes to CTT Regulations for Time Trials

Changes to CTT Regulations for Time Trials

7 Dec 2021 By Paul Winchcombe

Following last weekends annual general meeting of Cycling Time Trials two important changes have been made to the CTT regulations for time trials and are being implemented with immediate effect.
1. ALL riders must use a front light attached to their machine. [Regulation 14(j)].
2. ALL riders now must wear a helmet. (Previously this requirement was only mandatory for under 18s). [Regulation 15].

Another minor change which will affect our Open Events is that there must now be a start official who will check compliance with the regulations.  We have always tried to have a start official but we did have an occasion this year where the volunteer was not able to make it.  In future this would mean the event would not run.  Guidance for start officials will be provided but will include checking number placement, correct number, helmet, rear light and front light.
