RGT hints and tips, including how to get on RGT Cycling, including how to get the Premium version free during Covid-19

The link below tells you how to get the Premium version of this app free during C-19. You will, in fact, need two apps – a laptop or tablet with the ‘screen’ app uploaded, and a mobile phone or tablet from which to control the app. You’ll also need a Smart Trainer or Turbo Trainer and some form of Power Meter (and an Ant+ dongle, unless it’s Bluetooth compatible). Facebook has two useful groups for RGT Cycling, the ‘RGT Users Group’, which has a mine of information to help with any initial set up problems, and the ‘RGT Events Group’, where you can find out about other events being organised on the platform, from time trials to hill climbs, crits, group rides and other races.

If you are using a Smart Trainer, we would advise setting your ‘feedback intensity’ to 50%, rather than the 100% the app defaults to, otherwise you may find hills insurmountable. To do this simply tap on the ‘slope’ tab when you are on a ride, and move the slider as required. For reference, Zwift defaults to 50%.

Move the Feedback Intensity slider back to 50% under the slope tab once you’ve started a ride  and you may find the climbs more manageable!
