A new road bike category series of events is to be introduced for 2026 season on the club evening time trials. Although the evening calendar is full of a mix of challenging and fun events, there are 5 sporting events run on the undulating Wiltshire roads which are used to mix the racing up a bit.
These 5 sporting events will form the basis of a road bike series for the club. The format will be that 3 out of the 5 events will count towards the overall result. The Veterans Age Adjusted Times will be applied using the 10 mile adjustment for ages and then an average speed calculation applied to prevent too much gaming of the course selection. This should also level the playing field giving older riders a chance to compete against the youngsters.
It is hoped that by including a road bike competition other riders in the club might like to join the time trial community and also allows our regular road bike time trialists to have a bit of direct competition.

Time trial bikes may of course race these events but times will not count towards the road race series. Road bikes, as at present, can still compete in all evening events and those entries do count towards any trophies offered for those events.
