West DC are establishing a list of volunteers to support time trials in West DC to allow events to be run under a West DC banner. If you are able to give some of your time please do volunteer so that we can establish what may be possible.

West DC Needs YOUR Help
WEST DC NEEDS YOU’RE HELP TO RUN EVENTS THIS YEAR
WEST DC NEEDS YOUR HELP TO ENCOURAGE THE RUNING OF MORE EVENTS TOWARDS THE END OF THIS YEAR.
If clubs are keen to help but possibly struggling to find suitable volunteers the West DC are proposing to offer an umbrella organisation, and irrespective of club, if it helps to ensure more opportunities to race within the current CTT guidelines they could be run under the banner of West DC. Therefore we are looking for the following volunteers.
- EVENT PROMOTORS – It is not an onerous task but you are the focal point for the event. Events can be at any distance you would like and any approved “U” course but we are short in particular of events at 10, 15 and 25 miles. It is worth saying that the U21/10 has now come back into operation and there has been a 15 mile course sorted based on the 10 course approved as well.
All events would be run under the current Covid-19 guidelines, so events are very much stripped down. No pusher off required, no result boards, no refreshments, so much of the usual event promoter actions are currently out of scope. - MARSHALLS – the biggest issue. We are trying to create a list of people, again irrespective of club, who would be prepared to marshall. Our aim is to assist an event promoter by providing a list of people who would help at the events. We appreciate that people do have busy lives and not always able to promote but we have a sport that really needs support and if you can spare an hour or two to assist on a Sunday we would love to hear from you.
- GENERAL HELPERS – again this would be people who may just be able to provide a little assistance on the day of the event, for example helping to get signs out and back again. Again very limited time involved but such a great help to us.
