The last "open" event that the club promotes takes place on Sunday 11th October beginning at 9am at Bishops Cannings near Devizes. The event is a 24 mile race where teams of three riders ride together with the time taken as the third rider crosses the line. The course is best described as "sporting" with the lovely run down the Pewsey Vale ended by the climb up to Walkers Hill and onto the A4 at Lockeridge. The undulations through Kennet and past Silbury Hill and the Ridgeway before the long drag up towards Cherhil away from Beckhampton. Just prior to Calne the route takes an abrupt left turn to finish just past North Wilts Gold Course after climbing Blacklands…….
On the day I would welcome offers of help with such tasks as:
Pushing off (the riders at the start – 3 required)
Marshalls at various points around the course
Results board writer
Car Parking
Refreshments
Traffic count person
