Fletcher’s Flapjack Audax – Helpers needed and Entries now closed

Helpers Needed

This is a call to ALL CLUB MEMBERS for offers of help; simply give up a few hours of your time by volunteering at one of the checkpoints on route, and go home feeling satisfied (and probably full of tea and cake) that you’ve helped your club run another successful event.

Fletcher’s Flapjack is being held on Sunday 6th March.   We already have well over 100 riders entered from all over our region who are all expecting a good day out on their bicycles!

The riders will stop at checkpoints in Brinkworth, Kemble and Sherston village halls, where food and drink will be available for anyone taking part. We need helpers at all the venues, including our Chippenham Sports Club finish, to help set-up, serve food and drinks, time-stamp the riders brevet cards and give them a cheery smile!

We especially need 2 people willing to drive and transport cakes and other supplies to/from Brinkworth and Sherston.

If you are available to help, please email Sheni Jiwa on audax@chippenhamwheelers.org.

Any help is always greatly appreciated, and enables us to keep this event going for yet another year. It was originally started by club stalwart Eric Fletcher in the late 90s. Eric sadly passed away last year, so it would be lovely if we could honour Eric’s memory by putting on a great event this year.

Thank you to those who have already signed up to ride-and-help or have offered to help without riding. Sheni will be in contact with you soon with more details of where and when we need you on the day, or to take up the very kind offers of cake/flapjack baking that some of you have generously made.

More details about the event can be found through this link to the event page
