August Bank Holiday Club BBQ & Treasure Hunt

With summer now in full swing and the sun (almost) shining, we thought it must be time for a Wheelers get together! Date: Monday 26th August. Venue: The Sports Club Chippenham. Plans so far.. 1pm: Cycling Treasure Hunt – starting and finishing at The Sports Club, get your thinking caps (helmets) on, grab yourself a map and clue sheet, jump on your bike and head out and about around the lanes near Chippenham – match the pictures with the places and answer the questions, and you could be the winner of a super duper (TBC) prize! The route is approx 12 miles suitable for novice cyclists. All young children must be accompanied by an adult. 2pm: Refreshments – the bar will be opening exclusively for us until 6pm, so please do go in and buy some beer/cider/lemonade (delete as applicable) 3pm: BBQ – showing off his culinary skills, Jamie Currie has kindly offered to flip some burgers! We would be really grateful if people could make/bring some salads, coleslaw etc, make sure you let us know beforehand so we don’t end up with too many of the same item! Please note burgers will cost £2.50 each so don’t forget to bring along some loose change! All day: Activities – we have a few things lined-up for the kids (and grown-ups), but if you can think of any team games you would like to play, drop us a line and we can add it to the list!
