***8.00am start*** The fifth in our series of audax rides for 2024. Come and join us for a wander over to the quiet Wylye Valley. See details further below. The route takes us out past Silbury Hill and then over Walkers Hill to our early morning coffee stop at Honeystreet Mill Cafe. From there we head over to climb above Pewsey White Horse for some lovely roads across Salisbury Plain and then down into the Hampshire Avon valley. A gentle climb over the downs and we drop into the Wylye Valley and onwards to Ginny’s Cafe for lunch. We continue along the valley to Warminster and then follow familiar roads back home taking in a rarely used route over Seend Cleeve. Both cafes are expecting us and Ginny’s are staying open until 2.30pm especially for us. Don’t miss Ginny’s! It’s tucked away behind the black barn – click here to see this image Would the last riders through Ginny’s please let them know when you arrive, so they don’t stay open any later than needed, thank you. The registration desk will be open from 7.40am onwards by the tennis courts. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start. Entry fee for club members £1 (non-members £3). Please bring the exact change to drop in our container at the start. Please note that attendance of this ride requires advanced booking. Please use this simple booking form. The form is a mandatory for all riders, so the organiser knows who and how many to expect and so we have a record of everyone riding on the day. Your cooperation to complete this in advance of the ride will be much appreciated. It also means we can email you if there is any change in the ride information or cancellation. There is no need to notify us if you subsequently change your mind and decide not to ride, but a short email to the address below will ensure your name is taken off the list. Experienced riders are asked to help keep the groups to a manageable size on the road. For any queries about this ride please email leisureride@chippenhamwheelers.org.
