Around Salisbury Plain (Imber) 2018

Around Salisbury Plain (Imber) 2018

26 Dec 2018 By Richard Buckley

WHEN: 26/12/2018 8:00 am
CATEGORY: Training ride
EVENT ORGANISER: Andy Cook
START LOCATION: Chippenham cemetery gates
RIDE DISTANCE: 90 MILES
ROUTE: RIDE WITH GPS - Around Salisbury Plain (Imber) 2018

I am on the distribution for the Imber newsletter and the newsletter has announced that Imber isn’t open until 18:00 on 27th December……..!  I have therefore plotted an alternative route using the majority of the original route. ~90 mile ride at a good pace. Only turn up if you are prepared for it.

No stops so bring food and drink and spare inner tubes – this ride has previously had a reputation for lots of punctures due to flints in the Wyle Valley. Mudguards recommended (by other riders). This is a hard ride, again, only turn up if you are prepared for it. It is dark at the start so lights required. Typically back for a late lunch.

Imber is a village in the middle of Salisbury Plain, closed the public except for certain public holidays it is used by the military for target practice.

If you do intend to ride, please make contact with the club secretary or Chairman so we can keep a track of who will be turning up.
